Board of Directors

SOMACC is governed by a committed board of directors comprised of parents, community members, and individuals who collaborate to make decisions about school policies, budget allocations, and ensuring that our organization's objective and goals are met.

Virginia Grandi

  • Virginia Grandi is the Assistant to the President of the TODCO Group. She was previously the Executive Director of the Yerba Buena Alliance, a neighborhood organization where SOMACC is located, working with stakeholders to build community and partnerships since 2011. She also served as the board liaison and executive assistant to Gabriel Metcalf, the President of the San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association (SPUR), one of the region's leading think tanks. Her experience in nonprofit organizations, work with complex boards, and commitment to supporting children and families make her a valuable addition to SOMACC. Virginia joined the SOMACC Board in April 2017.

Wendy Aitken

  • Wendy Aitken is an attorney at the Fremont Group in the SOMA neighborhood. Her commitment to our children is evident through her coordination of seasonal activities and charitable giving, as well as her ongoing support on the Board’s finance committee. Wendy has served on the SOMACC Board of Directors for over ten years.

Mike Seder

  • Mike Seder is the Associate General Manager of Administration at the Moscone Center and joined the SOMACC Board in 2022. Before his role at Moscone, Mike served as Chief Financial Officer for the Los Angeles County Fair Association, overseeing multiple organizations, including the Fairplex Child Development Center.

Leonie Patrick

  • Leonie Patrick, a native San Franciscan, is the General Manager at Moscone Center. Previously, she served as VP of Convention Sales at SF Travel, San Francisco’s Destination Marketing Organization, collaborating with numerous planners who book Moscone Center. Her daughter and son are alumni of SOMACC's Yerba Buena Gardens Child Development Center (YBG CDC), where she served as PAC President, driven by her passion for building a strong parent community.

    Leonie is dedicated to supporting her neighborhood and sees SOMACC as a vital community resource. She values SOMACC as an essential childcare option for local families and professionals and cherishes the many positive memories her family has from their time there. She joined the SOMACC Board in 2024.

Stacey Swain Campos

  • Stacey Swain Campos is the Product Manager at the Housing Development for the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation. She worked at SOMACC as a preschool teacher, assistant site manager, and business coordinator from 2013 to 2019. Before SOMACC, she was a preschool teacher at Compass Children’s Center, a fellow Haas Fund Model Center Program, from 2008 to 2013. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree from UC Berkeley in 2019, Stacey pursued her passion for serving the San Francisco community through housing support and development in the Tenderloin District. She joined the SOMACC Board in 2024.

Patty Ryan

  • Patty Ryan is the Education Consultant at Wu Yee Children’s Services and serves as the Board Chair and Associate of Resources for Infant Educators (RIE). She was introduced to SOMACC many years ago through her colleague Polly Elam, who worked as a consultant and trainer for SOMACC's program staff. Patty later collaborated with the Yerba Buena Gardens Child Development Center (YBG CDC) infant and toddler program teams as a consultant and mentor, a role she found highly rewarding and meaningful. She thoroughly enjoyed working with YBG CDC's dedicated teaching teams and observed firsthand SOMACC's strong commitment to excellence in childcare. Patty saw how devoted the staff and management team are to fostering secure, trusting relationships with the children and families they serve. Sharing SOMACC’s passion for high-quality childcare and family support, she is honored to continue serving the community as a SOMACC Board member. She joined the SOMACC Board in 2024.

South of Market Child Care, Inc. (SOMACC) complies with the Sunshine Ordinance as a nonprofit doing business with the City and County of San Francisco. The public is welcome to attend our board meetings. SOMACC's Board of Directors includes community members, and its financial records are available for public inspection.
